Königslutter

Königslutter Dom

Surrounding village

Our endearing tour guide in front of the portal

This mural depicts König Lothar's lions, which symbolize the earth element. The other sections showed fire, wind, and water.

Its like Art History in real life!

The old extracted frieze

The King's remains are buried here along with his successor on the right and the Queen on the left

The organ

Isn't it angelic?

The chapel

All the pillars are of a different design!

I like him

The courtyard where the monks used to play

The oldest tree I will ever see!

Its completely hollow

and very fairy tale-like

It is 800-1,000 years old and the King himself is said to have planted it when the first stone for the Dome was laid

This depicts the story of the Hunt, here we see two rabbits tying up a hunter symbolizing the strife Christians face on earth. It is depicted on the outside to portray the message that through faith, you will be eventually rewarded with heaven.

On either side of the pillar we see a man blowing a horn and letting out the dogs, on this side tackling a boar I believe

On this end, a hare

Aw Germany

Entenbrunnen

I'm a GIANT!

Antiquated Flower Shop

The sun and rainbow bring luck and prosperity to those who enter

I love the detail!

The market

The town church bell tower

This guy was a real show off in his day...

The portal to the town's church

At the musical instrument museum, an old music-cabinet... slightly out of tune ;)

I just love this...

Full view of the music chest

You know what this is

These guys drink and play cards when the music plays!

The instrument used to narrate silent movies

This is adorable

This was used in big dance halls

This one has pipes

This one has THREE violins

This is where I was!
